Royal Navy Recognition

The 14th Tonbridge is one of 101
Royal Navy (RN) Recognised Sea Scout Groups. Retention of our RN Recognition is amongst the highest of the Group's priorities. The scheme monitors key performance parameters including membership figures and badgework achievement through an annual census. This information is used to set the RN contribution to a fund for RN Recognised Sea Scout Groups which the 14th Tonbridge has used many times over recent years.
RN recognition gives us access to a variety of military facilities. We regularly visit
HMS Bristol (moored alongside HMS Excellent at Whale Island, Portsmouth), and have used Baker Barracks (Thorney Island) and the
BMSTC (Mohne Dam, Germany) for recent summer camps.
We are inspected every 18 months by the Royal Navy's Staff Officer Scouts. Please feel free to read our lnspection reports from
2010,
2009,
2007 and
2005.
